April is Autism Action Month!

GUT & BRAIN HEALTH EDUCATION

GUT & BRAIN HEALTH EDUCATION 〰️

Twenty years ago, it was called Autism Awareness Month.

Today, autism is more widely understood under the umbrella of neurodivergency.

But even with more awareness, there is still a major piece that most people don’t fully understand.

The gut and the brain are deeply connected.

When there is inflammation in the gut, the brain feels it.

That can show up as:
• overwhelm
• difficulty focusing
• emotional swings
• sleep disruption
• heightened sensitivity

For neurodivergent and aging brains, this isn’t a small thing. It’s foundational.

What Most People Miss

We tend to separate the brain from the body.

We look for solutions in behavior, in routines, in external tools.

But the body is always part of the conversation.

When the gut is inflamed, the nervous system is under stress.

And when the nervous system is under stress, the brain has a harder time regulating.

Where Support Begins

This is where simple, consistent support matters.

Not extreme changes.

Just daily habits that reduce inflammation and support the body.

Two of the most impactful places to begin:
• Nutrition
• Nervous system support

Nutrition + Nervous System

Low-oxalate, whole food meals can help reduce internal stress on the body.

At the same time, calming essential oils can help signal safety to the nervous system.

When both are supported together, the body has a better chance to regulate.

A Simple Place to Start

If you’re not sure where to begin, I’m sharing a free guide that was and is a helpful resource if you’re looking for a more structured place to start.

It’s called “Going Gluten-Free, Casein-Free, Soy-Free in 10 Weeks” and it walks through simple, manageable steps to support the gut and reduce inflammation.

Simple Nervous System Support

Diffusing calming oils like:
• Cedarwood
• Lavender
• Frankincense

These oils can help create a more grounded environment, especially in the morning or evening.

This is all about creating a baseline of support. Find them here!

What You Keep in Your Kitchen Matters

Supporting the gut and brain doesn’t have to be overwhelming.

It can be as simple as keeping a few things in your kitchen that work with your body instead of against it.

These are some recipes that do exactly that.

RECIPE: Garlic Butter Steak Bites (Low-Oxalate, Brain Support)

Why this works

This is:
• nutrient-dense (iron, B vitamins for the brain)
• low oxalate
• easy to digest
• grounding and stabilizing

Paired with something fermented, it supports both the gut and nervous system.

Ingredients

• 1–1.5 lbs steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized pieces
• 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
• 2 tablespoons real butter or ghee
• 1 tablespoon olive oil
• 1 teaspoon sea salt
• Pepper to taste

A quick note:
I always recommend using real butter or ghee here. Grass-fed options like Kerrygold are a simple upgrade and tend to be easier on digestion.

What You End Up With

Simple, savory, grounding meal that supports energy, focus, and overall stability.

How to Serve

Serve in a bowl on its own or alongside a salad, fermented food or drink like:

Beet Kvass - Recipe drops next week!
• fermented vegetables
• a small spoonful of sauerkraut

Midday Movement Reset

Rhythmic movement helps the brain regulate digestion and blood sugar.

After a meal, try:

- Jumping up and down for 30–60 seconds

- 10 squats

- 3 deep nasal breaths

Food, scent, and movement work best together.

Everything I share here follows the same rhythm:

Calm the nervous system → Steady blood sugar → Support the gut → Build from there.

That’s exactly the approach behind the Metabolic Reset.

The Metabolic Reset - Each Month

We begin new round of the Metabolic Reset on April 9th, and it runs as an ongoing support rhythm every single month.

This is a primal-based reset focused on:

- steady energy

- nervous-system regulation

- simple meals

- gentle movement

- daily metabolic support

Many women join the group to heal from gut inflammation and find that they can more easily lose belly fat, release negative thought patterns, and have brain fog disappear.

To join, you just need the Make a Shift Reset Kit ($145).

That includes NingXia Red and access to our private Metabolic Reset Facebook group.

You don’t need to overhaul your life.

You need rhythms your nervous system can trust.
