Fermented Purple Onions (Simple Jar Method)

Ingredients:

• 2–3 large purple onions, thinly sliced
• 1–1.5 cups filtered water
• 1 tablespoon sea salt
• Optional: garlic cloves

Optional (Young Living integration):

• 1 drop of Young Living Lemon essential oil(for brightness)
👉 Important: Only use oils labeled for internal use and always dilute properly.

Instructions:

  1. Add sliced onions to a clean glass jar

  2. Dissolve salt into water to create a brine

  3. Pour brine over onions until fully submerged

  4. Add garlic if using

  5. Add optional essential oil drop (stir well)

  6. Cover loosely or use fermentation lid

  7. Let sit at room temperature 3–5 days

  8. Once slightly tangy, move to refrigerator

What You End Up With

Crisp, tangy, slightly sweet onions that are alive with beneficial bacteria.

They add brightness, depth, and digestive support to almost anything.
