Spring Cleaning for the Gut & Brain
SPRING CLEANING
**
SPRING CLEANING **
When we think of spring cleaning, we usually think of our homes.
We open the windows. We clear out the clutter. We let the fresh air in.
But what about the body?
Spring is the perfect time to reset the gut and the nervous system.
Just like our homes, our bodies accumulate "clutter" over the winter—stagnant energy, sluggish digestion, and inflammation.
When the gut feels sluggish, the brain feels it too.
That can show up as:
• brain fog
• sugar cravings
• low energy
• feeling stuck or unmotivated
The Mistake We Make With Cleanses
We tend to look for a quick fix. A harsh detox or an extreme diet.
But the body doesn't need to be punished to heal. It needs to be supported.
When the gut is gently supported, the nervous system can relax.
And when the nervous system is relaxed, the brain can focus.
A Gentler Way to Reset
This is where simple, consistent support matters.
Not extreme changes.
Just daily habits that reduce inflammation and support the body’s natural ability to cleanse.
Two of the most impactful places to begin this spring:
• Seasonal Nutrition (Low-Oxalate + Ferments)
• Nervous system support with Essential Oils
Nutrition + Nervous System
Low-oxalate, whole food meals can help reduce internal stress on the body.
At the same time, adding gentle, probiotic-rich ferments helps rebuild the gut microbiome.
When both are supported together, the body has a better chance to regulate.
Simple Nervous System Support For Spring
Just like you open the windows to freshen the air in your home, diffusing the right essential oils can freshen the air—and the energy—in your body.
Last week, I saw the cutest video of someone making an "Easter Blend" with Vanilla, Lemon, and a few other oils. It inspired me to share my favorite spring blends.
Diffusing uplifting and cleansing oils like:
• Lemon
• Peppermint
• Lavender
These oils can help create a more vibrant, clear environment, especially in the morning when you need a gentle wake-up.
This is all about creating a baseline of support. Find them here!
Supporting the gut and brain doesn’t have to be overwhelming.
It can be as simple as keeping a few things in your kitchen that work with your body instead of against it.
These are 3 recipes that do exactly that one for grounding, one for gut health and one for extra sparkle.
Grilled Lemon-Herb Chicken & Zucchini Skewers
This is:
• perfect for the outdoor grill
• nutrient-dense and high in protein
• low oxalate (zucchini is a fantastic, gut-friendly swap for higher oxalate veggies)
• easy to digest and deeply satisfying
Ingredients
• 1 lb. organic chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes
• 2 medium zucchinis, sliced into thick rounds
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
• 1 teaspoon dried oregano (or fresh if you have it!)
• 1 teaspoon sea salt
• Wooden or metal skewers
Instructions
1.Toss the chicken and zucchini in a bowl with olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, and salt.
2.Thread them alternating onto your skewers.
3.Grill over medium heat for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and the zucchini has a nice char.
How to Serve
Serve alongside a fresh green salad (using low-oxalate greens like arugula or bibb lettuce) and follow it up with my new “Gut Over It Shot” & your Spring Sunrise NingXia Mocktail!
The "Gut Over It" Fermented Ginger Shot
This is:

Instructions
1.Dissolve the sea salt in the filtered water to make your brine.
2.Place the chopped ginger and lemon slices into a clean mason jar.
3.Pour the brine over the top, making sure everything is submerged.
4.Cover loosely with a lid and let sit at room temperature for 5-7 days.
5.Strain the liquid into a clean bottle and store in the fridge.
6.To use: Take a 1-ounce shot of the liquid every morning, or mix it into sparkling water!

Midday Movement Reset
Rhythmic movement helps the brain regulate digestion and blood sugar.
After a meal, try:
- Jumping up and down for 30–60 seconds
- 10 squats
- 3 deep nasal breaths
Food, scent, and movement work best together.
Everything I share here follows the same rhythm:
Calm the nervous system → Steady blood sugar → Support the gut → Build from there.
That’s exactly the approach behind the Metabolic Reset.
The Metabolic Reset - Each Month
We begin new round of the Metabolic Reset is tomorrow, April 9th, and it runs as an ongoing support rhythm every single month.
This is a primal-based reset focused on:
- steady energy
- nervous-system regulation
- simple meals
- gentle movement
- daily metabolic support
Many women join the group to heal from gut inflammation and find that they can more easily lose belly fat, release negative thought patterns, and have brain fog disappear.
To join, you just need the Make a Shift Reset Kit ($145).
That includes NingXia Red and access to our Private Metabolic Reset Facebook group.
You don’t need to overhaul your life.
You need rhythms your nervous system can trust.
